When it comes to skin care in spring, a gradual approach based on skin condition is more important than excessive dermatological procedures.

Spring is a time when external stimuli such as ultraviolet rays and fine dust increase rapidly along with rising temperatures. As a result, the skin barrier is easily weakened and various skin problems such as skin troubles, pigmentation, and dryness are likely to occur in combination. In particular, if the skin condition that deteriorated during the winter has not fully recovered and environmental changes are added, the skin may react sensitively, so a more systematic and step-by-step management approach is needed.

Director Kang Minji of JAYJUN Dermatology Clinic said, “It is important to approach skin care in spring in the order of ‘calm → refine → improve’ rather than simply focusing on one treatment. The doctor explained, “It is more effective to stabilize the skin condition first, then gradually proceed to treatments for improvement.”

First, in the early stages, management focusing on skin soothing and barrier recovery is necessary. Typically, LDM management can help quickly stabilize sensitive skin by using high-density ultrasound to improve the moisture environment in the skin and induce cell activation. It can be seen as a kind of step in restoring ‘basic stamina of the skin’ as it can strengthen the skin barrier and have a positive effect on alleviating redness and skin troubles.

Once the skin has stabilized to some extent, it is recommended to move on to the refinement stage through peeling. Peeling helps remove dead skin cells and normalize the skin regeneration cycle, while also enhancing the absorption of subsequent treatments. Through this, overall skin texture can be improved and a regenerative environment can be established.

The final step is pigment management treatment such as laser toning. Because ultraviolet rays rapidly become stronger in spring, it is important to suppress melanin production and manage pigmentation from the beginning. Toning treatment places relatively little burden on the patient and can help improve skin tone evenly, making it an appropriate choice early in the season.

Director Kang Minji explained, “The key to skin care in spring is not excessive procedures, but a gradual approach tailored to the skin condition,” adding, “In particular, if strong procedures are performed without initial soothing and barrier recovery, skin irritation may become worse.” The doctor added, “Daily home care is also very important, as the effectiveness of any treatment can be halved if UV protection and sufficient moisturizing care are not combined.”

The doctor also advised, “Rather than a uniform management method, it is necessary to take a flexible approach depending on the individual’s skin condition and condition. Even at the same time, the necessary care may vary depending on the skin type and current condition, so it is advisable to create a customized plan based on expert consultation.”

In the end, ‘order’ and ‘balance’ are the keys to spring skin care. It is important to maintain healthy skin condition that is not shaken by changes in the external environment through a systematic care routine that starts from the basic stage of stabilizing the skin to regeneration and improvement.
