Increased demand for eye surgery during winter… Personalized design is important

Winter is considered the peak season in the plastic surgery industry. This is because the low temperature makes it relatively easy to manage inflammation, swelling, and bruises, and you can have sufficient recovery time by taking advantage of the year-end and New Year holidays or school breaks. For this reason, the number of people considering their first plastic surgery increases during the winter, and eye plastic surgery has become one of the most sought-after surgeries.
There is a strong perception that eye plastic surgery has a relatively simple surgical method and a short recovery period compared to other plastic surgery, but in reality, it is a difficult surgery whose approach varies greatly depending on the individual eye structure. Since the eye is an area with very distinct individual differences, such as skin thickness and elasticity, function of eye-opening muscles, amount of orbital fat, and left and right symmetry, precise diagnosis and delicate design are essential rather than uniform surgery.
Double eyelid surgery also requires selecting an appropriate method depending on the individual's eye condition. If the skin has little sagging, good elasticity, and a small amount of fat, the non-incision method can be considered. If the skin is thick, has a lot of fat, or has poor elasticity, the incision method can be expected to provide more stable results. Additionally, if you have difficulty opening your eyes or your eyes are not exposed enough and give a stuffy impression, it may be helpful to perform ptosis correction at the same time.
Because it is difficult to make structural changes such as the horizontal length of the eyes or the angle of the eye corners with simple double eyelid surgery alone, if you want a more defined and open impression, you can also consider eye-opening procedures such as medial, lateral, and lower canthoplasty.
Double eyelid lines are commonly divided into in-line, in-out line, semi-outline, and outline, but in actual surgery, a difference of just 1 mm can significantly change the image of the entire face. For this reason, it is important to have a custom design that comprehensively analyzes the harmony of face shape and facial features rather than making a decision based solely on trends or simple preferences.
Park Cheolheum, director of JAYJUN Plastic Surgery (plastic surgery specialist), advises, “Eye plastic surgery is not simply a surgery to create double eyelids, but a process of perfecting an individual’s facial image and balance. The key to increasing satisfaction is determining the surgical method and line that is most suitable for you through sufficient consultation with a specialist with extensive clinical experience.”
