Among Korea's four distinct seasons, winter is considered the most suitable season for plastic surgery. In particular, many students who have completed the CSAT are considering plastic surgery during the long winter break when there is sufficient recovery time to improve their appearance after the CSAT.

The most popular plastic surgery during this period is by far ‘eye plastic surgery.’ Eye plastic surgery is considered an attractive plastic surgery option for students who have completed the CSAT because it has the advantage of making a big difference in the appearance even with a small change and recovering relatively quickly.

There are various types of eye plastic surgery, including buried-suture method, incision method, ptosis correction, and canthoplasty. The buried-suture method is relatively simple and the recovery period is quick. However, if the skin on the eyelids is thick or has a lot of fat, the incision method is recommended as there is a high possibility that the lines will loosen.

If there are limitations in adjusting the size of the eyes with double eyelids alone or if you have strong Mongolian folds, you can achieve a more open appearance and more satisfying results by performing canthoplasty together. Lines should also be carefully selected, such as in-line, in-out line, outline, and semi-out line, to find a design that suits the individual's eye shape and face shape.

Particularly for those undergoing first-time eyelid surgery, finding a design that suits their facial shape is very important. Ignoring this and merely following trends or insisting only on a desired design can result in lower satisfaction and may lead to revision surgery.

Gangnam JAYJUN Plastic Surgery Clinic Director Park Kisoo (plastic surgery specialist) said, “Every year during the winter vacation season, many students visit plastic surgery clinics after taking the college entrance exam to improve their appearance, which they had not had time to care for. The most important elements in plastic surgery are the harmony of the entire face and a design that suits the individual’s image. Rather than making an easy decision just because it is a common surgery, it is better to have sufficient consultation with a specialist and make a personalized plan for satisfactory results.” He emphasized, “Especially when considering eye plastic surgery for the first time, you must not rely solely on special offers or promotional content.”
