As the summer vacation and vacation season begins in earnest, the number of people visiting plastic surgery clinics is noticeably increasing. This is because it is an appropriate time for those planning plastic surgery as it is a relatively leisurely time, allowing for sufficient recovery period after surgery.

However, there are also considerable concerns about the hot weather in summer. There are many questions on online communities and social media about whether high temperature and humidity affect the recovery process or increase the risk of inflammation.

Many plastic surgeons say that the summer season itself does not have a significant impact on the results of surgery. However, it is a common opinion that thorough aftercare and adjusting lifestyle patterns during the recovery process are very important.

Particular attention should be paid to summer plastic surgery to block ultraviolet rays and keep the surgical area and surrounding area clean. Because pigmentation may occur in the surgical area due to strong sunlight, it is recommended to use a hat or sunglasses to thoroughly block UV rays and protect the surgical area when going out. This is recommended to be maintained for 1-2 months even after the stitches are removed.

In addition, as it is the season when sweat and sebum secretion becomes active due to high temperature and humidity, it is good to reduce the risk of infection by maintaining the cleanliness of the surgical area. For proper recovery, it is advisable to avoid activities that may irritate the surgical area, such as swimming, saunas, and strenuous exercise. It is also recommended to refrain from drinking and smoking as they can slow wound recovery and cause inflammation.

In other words, there may be some inconvenience in caring for the surgical area as it is the hot season, but it is difficult to say that seasonal factors themselves increase the likelihood of surgical results or side effects. Rather, summer vacation or vacation season, when you can get enough rest, may be the best time for recovery after plastic surgery if you manage it well.

JAYJUN Plastic Surgery Director Park Hyungjoon advised, "Just because it's summer doesn't mean you have to avoid plastic surgery at all costs. If you're planning summer plastic surgery due to vacation or vacation, you can have a safe surgery and a quick recovery if you adjust the surgery schedule to fit your lifestyle pattern through sufficient consultation in advance and thoroughly block UV rays and maintain hygiene after the surgery."
