The forehead, one of the largest areas of the entire face, is the first to show signs of aging.
As the skin and tissue in the forehead area sags downward, the eyebrows sink together, which can cause functional discomfort such as heavy eyelids and narrowed vision. This aging pattern is not limited to changes in appearance but can also affect the quality of daily life, so a more fundamental improvement method is needed.
A representative method to resolve sagging around the forehead is endoscopic forehead lift. Endoscopic forehead lift, also called baby face plastic surgery, is a non-incision forehead plastic surgery that minimizes the incision range. Three to five tiny holes are made inside the hairline, an endoscope is inserted through these, and the tissue is dissected down to the eyebrow area. The forehead and eyebrows are then pulled upward and fixed. As the endoscope is used, nerves, blood vessels, muscles, etc. can be precisely checked during surgery, and safety is also evaluated as high.
The pulled tissue is fixed using a fixing device such as thread or endotine, so it is firmly established and remains for a relatively long time. Through this, the left and right heights of the eyebrows can be adjusted, asymmetry can be improved, and the overall impression can be improved by widening the gap between the eyes and eyebrows.
Forehead lift surgery was commonly known as a cosmetic surgery for middle-aged people, but recently, demand has been increasing among younger people in their 20s and 30s. It can be helpful in improving your impression when applied in cases where the eye and eyebrows are too close together after eye surgery and give a heavy, hooded appearance, in cases where there are many and deep forehead wrinkles congenitally, or in cases where the forehead itself gives a heavy impression. In fact, there are increasing cases of people improving their impressions with just a forehead lift instead of revision double eyelid surgery.
However, simply pulling sagging tissue more tightly through endoscopic forehead lift does not necessarily lead to satisfactory results.
Detailed adjustments such as the location of the incision, direction of pulling, and distribution of force are required, and a design that fully considers the individual's facial features ratio and skin condition is essential. In particular, because the forehead shape, eyebrow position, and skin thickness are different for each person, it is important to select a skilled medical staff with extensive experience in various facial types.
Park Kisoo, director of JAYJUN Plastic Surgery, advised, "The forehead is a very important area functionally. Therefore, the key to a good result is not to unconditionally pull it, but to create a detailed surgical plan tailored to the individual's impression and structure, so be sure to carefully assess this aspect when consulting with the medical staff."
