A person's eyes are a major factor that greatly influences the atmosphere and impression conveyed by their appearance. Therefore, eyes are often said to be the most important in forming an impression. If you are frequently told that your first impression seems gloomy, that you appear melancholic or timid, or that you look tired, it is worth looking at your eyes for the reason. Regardless of actual condition, if the area under the eyes is discolored or sunken, or uneven with shadows, it not only makes a person look older but also gives the impression of fatigue.

However, once wrinkles or dark circles form under the eyes, it is not easy for an individual to improve them. Applying eye cream or being mindful of facial expressions can only help as a preventive measure; they have no effect on already dull, sunken eyes or uneven and bumpy areas around the eyes.

Recently, the number of cases considering surgeries such as lower eyelid surgery and under-eye fat repositioning has been increasing significantly, from middle-aged eye plastic surgery to younger people who want to improve their appearance. As more and more people come to know through various cases that their impressions look completely different just by changing the area under their eyes, they are seeking more proactive solutions.

Under eye plastic surgery methods can be broadly divided into three types.
under-eye fat repositioning is a surgery that removes and realigns the bulging fat under the eyes as needed to create an even look under the eyes, making the impression clearer and brighter. Under-eye fat transplantation is a surgery to fill in the area where there is less fat under the eyes with fat collected from the abdomen or thighs, and may also be performed in combination with under-eye fat repositioning. If not only the fat under the eyes, but also the skin under the eyes sags and tissue sags, making the undereye sulcus deep and looking older, lower eyelid surgery, which involves making an incision just below the lower eyelashes, removing unnecessary fat, relocating it, pulling the skin, excising the remaining part, and suturing, can be helpful.

Park Hyungjoon, director of JAYJUN Plastic Surgery (plastic surgery specialist), advised, "Under-eye plastic surgery is a surgery that is often considered by people of various ages, from people in their 20s who are concerned about dark circles that cannot be improved with laser treatment alone, to older people who have sagging under the eyes due to aging. Because of the nature of the eye area, the surgery must be done in a very detailed and safe manner, so it is best to have the surgery performed by a medical staff with experience in each case suitable for various age groups."

When choosing a hospital for under-eye surgery, it is advisable to carefully consider whether the consultation is detailed, thorough, and personalized, and whether follow-up care can be received through a systematic medical team.
