Wrinkles on the skin occur for various reasons, but mainly refer to those caused by aging, such as the degeneration and atrophy of elastic and collagen fibers in the dermis and muscle fibers. The initial wrinkles start as fine lines but gradually become bigger and deeper. Wrinkles caused by the degeneration, deterioration, and atrophy of elastic and collagen fibers in the dermis are difficult to heal.

The cause of wrinkles like this is a decrease in collagen or hyaluronic acid in the dermal layer. At this time, elastic protein (hyaluronic acid), which maintains collagen and elasticity in the dermal layer, which is composed of the epidermis, dermis, and subcutaneous tissue, plays a role in maintaining the elasticity of the skin. To improve these wrinkles, various efforts are attempted, such as using functional cosmetics or eating various foods, but improving wrinkles is not easy. However, recently, with the advancement of medical science, various procedures, including Ulthera lifting, can be of great help in improving the condition.

Ulthera lifting is a procedure approved by the FDA and KFDA that produces collagen using ultrasound. Ulthera focuses on a depth of 4.5 mm in the skin layer, generating 55 to 70 degrees of heat in the skin connective tissue, including the thin muscle layer that covers all surfaces of the face, and creating wounds due to the heat in that area.

Afterwards, the wound caused by heat triggers a natural immune response in our body, promoting collagen regeneration in the area, and various effects can be expected, such as improving pores and wrinkles, scar treatment, and lifting. In particular, you can try it in a variety of situations, such as when you have symptoms of sagging after contouring or double jaw surgery as well as wrinkles, or when your entire face looks saggy due to stretch marks or sagging jowls.

Director Kang Minji of JAYJUN Dermatology said, "Because the treatment is performed under direct observation using ultrasound, only the target area can be safely treated. There are no incisions and there is only mild pain, which reduces the burden of scarring. In addition, the treatment time is shorter than other treatments and there is no special marking on the treatment area, so you can quickly return to daily life."

Dr. Kang added, “However, in the case of Ulthera lifting, it is a highly difficult procedure, so it is advisable to check whether the medical facilities in the hospital are sufficient and whether the specialist’s clinical experience and experience are sufficient, and to receive it after sufficient consultation with a dermatologist.”
